RE: Advantages and Disadvantages of Dedicated Hostiing
I believe, that the repairing time of a faulty dedicated server will be the same, in spite of the hosting type. Even with a shared web-hosting, your website is hosted on a dedicated server along with others. It is even possible the dedicated server used for shared web-hosting to be fixed faster, because the owner will be most likely a ``bigger`` client of the data-center. Most of the big shared web-hosting providers are renting numerous dedicated servers for their shared services, and that makes them a ``high priority`` clients for most of the data-centers. Who do you thing will be more important for the data-center? The client renting 1-2 servers, or the hosting company which is renting 10++
The above fact is not very ``enjoyable`` for the smaller clients, but unfortunately it is true.

RE: Advantages and Disadvantages of Dedicated Hostiing
As of me If you need to upgrade your server, it is usually much easier with a dedicated option. You’ll have more control over backing up your content, and the ability to add more options and features, as well as disk space by simply upgrading your existing dedicated hosting package but this is expansive option.

RE: Advantages and Disadvantages of Dedicated Hostiing
Migrating to the much bigger Dedicated server is easy to say but hard for the pockets heheh especially if the user has small or no traffic at all
but of course with the arrival of Cloud Hosting, migrating to a Dedicated Server is usually being thought about...Cloud is much more cheaper than Dedicated server

RE: Advantages and Disadvantages of Dedicated Hostiing
I believe, that your hosting type selection is completely defined by the exact type of your business and its needs. Herein, there is still no 100% winner in the ``battle`` Dedicated Vs Cloud.

RE: Advantages and Disadvantages of Dedicated Hostiing
I think you are right Max, when you have certain demands and specific needs in your site, I think Cloud for the moment cannot cater to all the webmaster's needs. I mean it is still not complete that some webmasters will still stick to their good ole ways. But I believe that there will be a time that Cloud will rule them all, that Cloud will have all the services that the other Hosting type can give.

RE: Advantages and Disadvantages of Dedicated Hostiing
Unfortunately, you are right, cabletiesandmore. Almost all newly starting companies are operating with very ``tight`` budgets, which usually leads to economies whenever is possible. Herein, the majority of new business websites are usually hosted on a budget dedicated server, VPS, or even shared hosting. I believe, that cloud hosting could be the best choice for such new companies and their new website, because its architecture allows more precise billing.
