Dedicated servers are intended for clients who have very loaded websites and receive a huge amount of traffic or database queries...

RE: What is the difference between a dedicated server and a regular server ?
A non-dedicated server acts as a server as well as a workstation. In this way ,you are still sharing the server with other websites. But a dedicated server helps to access data, software and hardware. It will be yours, will not be shared with other websites.

A given application in a computer may function as a client with requests for services from other programs and also as a server of requests from other programs. A server that is hosted by a company and only allows one company to lease and access it is called a dedicated server. It is "dedicated" to the one client and is not shared with any other clients. In the Web hosting business, a dedicated server is typically a rented service. The user rents the server, software and an Internet connection from the Web host. Dedicated servers are used to serve web page requests (html, images, etc) but they can be used for many other purpose as well.

RE: What is the difference between a dedicated server and a regular server ?
In a nutshell, a Virtual Server account resides on a computer that also houses other Virtual Server accounts, whereas the Dedicated Server is all yours. With a Virtual Server the computer’s hardware resources and associated bandwidth are shared among multiple sites. A Virtual Server is an excellent solution for small to medium sized businesses that want to create a powerful Internet presence.

A dedicated server for web hosting does have its advantages. Faster speeds, more bandwidth, and the ability to control and manage your own server.

RE: What is the difference between a dedicated server and a regular server ?
A Dedicated Server is a full server that is your 'own'; you share it with no other websites. You have the full hard drive, full use of RAM, full use of the processor.
A Regular Server simulates having a dedicated server, but you are still sharing the server with other websites. You still have root access, but the actual hard drive in the server is split between several websites (clients). Good Luck! Women's Flat Sandals | Buy Footwear Online |
