What is the difference between a dedicated server and a regular server ?

Do u know what is the basic difference between a dedicated server and a regular server? let me know..

Dedicated servers are intended for clients who have very loaded websites and receive a huge amount of traffic or database queries...

A non-dedicated server acts as a server as well as a workstation.In this way ,you are still sharing the server with other websites.But a dedicated server helps to access data, software and hardware.It will be yours,will not be shared with other websites.
