RE: what package do you buy for running a forum?
If you are running a fairly large forum, you will probably want to avoid shared plans in general. Go with a VPS plan that will give you the speed and ability to support the visitors.

Yes, A VPS Hosting plan with good resources is an ideal candidate for a forum with fairly large number of members, of course if it is a popular forum then it is inevitable that it will eventually grow bigger so it is better to be prepared on your Forum Hosting provider

You don't need to spend money to buy package because you can use it without any cost. You will get some benefits of membership but you can get needful benefits with free membership. You will need to search with free word then you will see many option for you.

Hi Rexzempoalteca, I think you are referring to a newbie Forum webmaster if they want it a free site, since a proper Forum site needs maintenance and good resources to cater its members. A free Forum site will be limited when it comes to resources thus its support to the members will be limited as well.

Of course there are free options out there but they are free for a reason. Just compare the functionality of VBulletin to a freebie forum script. The difference is noticeable through the admin and member perspectives. ChiChi's Floral - Hosted by Myhosting COMING BACK SOON! (Fall 2012) |

Yes Standingoten, I agree with you, the is free for a reason, and that reason is limited tech support and features. If you want to maximize your Forum Hosting, I suggest you look for cheap hosting for your forum, it will definitely be worth it.
