RE: VPS Selection – Control Panel
Yes Max Smile but how about the price difference? If Cpanel is expensive I will opt to us the free software, but then Cpanel is cheap and affordable so I'd go for Cpanel, besides I am familiar with Cpanel Tongue

RE: VPS Selection – Control Panel
I could`t define the cPanel`s price as cheap, because the annual cPanel/WHM ® license costs 425$ (only 1 license). You can easily pay the annual hosting bills for a ''medium sized'' website with the same sum.

Woah! $425 annual license? Hmm...kinda steep for me but I think it is worth it if more people pay that much and still they prefer it than other free platform. How bout you Max? Are you using Cpanel for your sites as well or you are using others?

RE: VPS Selection – Control Panel
Honestly, I`m also using cPanel, but purchased from a reseller with a package discount. However, I`m planning to switch entirely to an alternative platform, but this will happen in the end of this year or even the next year. Such drastic changes are usually requiring more time for ''adaptation''Undecided

The annual fee is justified from my perspective.
Maximus, what platform are you changing over to specifically? DirectAdmin?

I completely agree with you Max, changing your platform in such a drastic way will require adaptation of the next platform you are going to use, such as familiarizing its uses and knowing the basic functions.

True but most control panels have similar functions that most users use anyway. I am 100% sure both DirectAdmin, cPanel, and most low end control panels have methods of adding mySQL databases without too much variation.

RE: VPS Selection – Control Panel
Yup, they may have the same functions or methods, but take for example, when you have been using Windows for so long, and then you changed your platform to Linux, do you think the icons or the names of exe files are the same? It is not, so you still have to familiarize yourself with the new platform, indeed they have similar functions but first you have to know what does what Smile
