You can apply for an SSL but before it will work properly you will need to get a dedicated IP. Also, if your SSLis purchased from your shared hosting provider you may end up with the dedicated IP just by purchasing and setting up the SSL.
To apply for an SSL you need to purchase the SSL from a Certificate Authority. They will be able to provide directions on what is next once you have purchased the SSL. Mike Go Daddy® Hosting Ambassador |

Good sharing!! Informative!It's a good idea to estimate how big your site will be and how much traffic you expect before choosing the web host type. I chose VPS hosting for my site from http://www.tucktail.com/ and it is fast, reliable and secure.

There are even more specific niches of hosting if you can believe it. "Green" web hosting is a huge fad and trend in the industry now. They boast environmentally safe solutions which I don't buy because they charge SUCH a premium for it.
