RE: Virtual Private Server(VPS) Explained
I believe so, the only difference for having a off shore VPS Provider is the actual hardware and technical support, since off shore Providers have partner companies on shore that will do the support once you have problems with your subscription.

Yes, that's why a 24-hour helpdesk and support is very important for VPS providers.

RE: Virtual Private Server(VPS) Explained
Yes, the adequate support is crucial element in each provided VPS service. And of course, this irreplaceable service component is important for all other webhosting types too.

RE: Virtual Private Server(VPS) Explained
Virtual private server (VPS) is a term utilized by Web hosting aids to point to a virtual machine. The term is utilized for stressing that the virtual machine, in spite of the fact that running in software on the same physical machine as other clients' virtual machines, is practically proportionate to a marked physical machine, is committed to the single client's requires, has the security of a marked physical machine, and might be designed to run server software.

RE: Virtual Private Server(VPS) Explained
Occupying the space between the shared hosting and dedicated servers, a virtual server offers many of the capabilities and features of dedicated servers. Users share a single physical server, but because each virtual server is effectively isolated from other virtual servers, the user has full control over the virtual server.
Virtual servers are particularly useful for companies and individuals that run higher-traffic websites or complex applications and thus need the bandwidth, consistent performance, and flexibility of a virtual server. A server can be located anywhere in the world and should still remain accessible from anywhere else; you do not have to have your server be located in the same geographic region to be available to you. However, you may experience latency depending on the server's location versus the location of the end users. For example, if your server is in North America but your user base is all in Australia, your users may see higher latency than if the server was also located in Australia. Keep in mind latency is not just distance dependent. If you have a closer server but that server is not supported by a good network you may experience higher latency to that server due to the network. Mike Go Daddy® Hosting Ambassador |

RE: Virtual Private Server(VPS) Explained
So you are saying Mike that due to geographic locations, you will experience high latency in managing your website but what does it really affect? to you ad to your users when you are far from the server you are connecting to?

RE: Virtual Private Server(VPS) Explained
Latency will be caused by a combination of both geographic distance and quality/speed of networks. If you have a great network and are close to the server that is optimal. However, a poor quality network and slow connection will not be helped much by a server that is very close. You need to look at both the network the server uses and you use as well as the distance the server is from you. Remember the information has to travel a long distance if you are in Canada and the server is in Singapore. It is not an instantaneous exchange.

RE: Virtual Private Server(VPS) Explained
Yes but what I mean is, except from the time the data has to travel, is there any more causes that can affect the quality of service you can give to your clients?

RE: Virtual Private Server(VPS) Explained
That is correct Apaullo, if you select a provider whose data center is on a strong network the only latency you will see from the distance is just the time it takes data to go back and forth.
