Add-on domain is the domain you just add onto the current site.
Parked domain is the main domain you are parking onto a site or server.
Sub domain is basically a domain made off of your current domain. (So if your site is google.com, a subdomain is goggles.google.com)

I think subdomains are easier and less expensive, but add on domains have their advantages if you want to get multiple spellings of your site or have multiple sites administered on one set of servers.
