The majority of all new web-masters are usually starting their websites with free or even base/default theme. This has little or no effect to SEO and the content is always the most important part. However, if we look from the side of the users visiting those websites, then there are some concerns. A regular internet user is browsing hundreds of websites every week and the only separation line between those websites (except content) is their outlook. The good user experience is based entirely on the design of your website. Herein, relying entirely on the base/default theme will be a mistake. You can change all of the theme buttons, menus and everything else that you don`t like.
