For example if I post links in my Facebook account from my own website is that called backlinks. I bet backlinks may result to spamming in the website or traffic due to visitor logs.

Let me get this straight..an example of a backlink is this..I have a FB account, and I have a blog from wordpress, if I post the link of my blog to my FB account, that is already called a backlink?

Mariesheila, any traffic from social-networking websites is not considered as spam, unless you opt for the wrong way of promotion.

No Apaullo, that cannot be considered a backlink for your website. It will be considered a promotion method.

No, I mean to say that you need to create a Fan page similar to the category of your website.
Now you have to share the link of your website on that fan page.
As the popularity of that fan page increases, then you will have a backlink for your website from that fan page.

Ahhhhh..so either I create a fan page OR look for an existing fan page and submit my link to them? I searched in Yahoo about fan page, all i saw is FB fan pages lols! I visited the Texas Hold Em Fan page since they ranked no.2.
