I have defined the general purpose of Web Host Manager (WHM) in my other thread ``WHM and WHMCS`` , so today I`m going to make a quick guide through WHM main functions . The installation of WHM is pretty much the same as already described WHMCS installation , so lets start directly reviewing WHM main functions .
WHM has a variety of managing options , but the most used ones are creating/upgrading/suspending/terminating accounts and also all informational related modules . To create a new account , under WHM , you have to find ``Account Functions`` section and then click ``Create a New Account``. You will be taken to a setup page , where you have to enter information about your new account , such as Domain Information,Package/Web-hosting Plan,cPanel Theme,Language,DNS Settings and Mail Routing Settings . When all of the required information is entered , you have to just press the ``create`` button and your new account is ready in approximately 10 seconds . Complete account information is send to your e-mail, so you can print it for your records, if you want . In WHM , you can Force Password Changes,Limit Bandwidth Usage or Modify an Account very easy from the same ``Account Functions`` module . To execute any of the available function , you must simply select it and repeat the steps from ``Create a New Account`` . If you want to check your server resources , you have to find ``Server Status`` and click ``Service Status`` . After you have selected the above submodule , you will have access to system information , such as Server load,Memory Used and Swap Used . Other information provided on the same page is all HDD usage and the amount of information stored in the main directories .You can check also all running services , their version and current status.

Indeed, this thread is really informative and useful for newbies like me who have a little background on WHM or WHMCS. So this is the main workflow in creating an account. The step by step process would help us learn creating an account however in circumstances like encountering an error message. Do you happen to have a list of "worse case scenario" solutions?"

It really depends from the type of problem , that could arise mariesheila . The creation of "worse case scenario" solutions list is a very good idea and maybe I`ll try to build such list in future . Thank you for your suggestion

Hey Fkhanum . The password changes must be performed at least once per month . However , it will not matter how often you are changing your passwords,if you are not careful with the downloaded software . If you do not check everything , that you are downloading with the appropriate security software , you could download for example a program with attached key-logger . It is always better to open all newly downloaded software in ``sandbox`` . ``Sandbox`` is a security architecture used in the most famous AV software . It provides a protected environment in which you can safely open/start all newly downloaded software . This is only one of the possible security activities , that you can perform and I just gave it like an example . In conclusion I can add only , that to maintain good security levels , you have to periodically change your password , but along with all other possible security measures .

Is it safe to download a key logger when the website under WHM? If the computers in a company are used b multiple employees they might be able to pull up the passwords from their someone can ***** into the company's account.

Indeed, Sandbox is very useful can even be found in several free AV, keyloggers installed is always a risk you should avoid, some IT perform manual logs by writing the changed password in a secured book.

I agree with Apaullo , however you must be extra careful , when you are downloading/installing software of this type . Those applications are just pure malware and there is always a possibility an important information to be viewed by third parties . What guarantees , that when you use such type of application to spy on your family , the gathered information is available only to you and it is not going to the creator of this app ?
