What shopping cart software do you consider to be the best one?
I recognized that there are many of them:
- magento commerce,
- OS Commerce,
- Miva Order,
- Zen cart
- Cube cart
and many others.
So, what shopping cart software can you recommend me to choose? WHY?
I can only recommend you to check the provided features with each software option. You must look for those features, that you will actually use. Don`t be mislaid by the huge list of features advertised with most of the shopping cart softwares, because most of these features are useless and not so important. You must simply ``sift`` all software options, and choose on the base of your needs and the exact type of your website. Anyway, the paid software solutions are almost always the better choice, at least on the billing/shopping cart software market.
I definitely agree with Max, just choose the software that can actually serve its purpose to your planned website...First, think about the priorities that are needed in your website, then look for it from the different Shopping Cart software and choose the best offer. But also check the reviews from the different clients of that specific Provider

I have personally only used Zen Cart and thought it was great for a free script. Once your site gets larger though, customization of the Zen Cart script is definitely required to make it more useable.
Zen Cart is the best shopping cart. Its is very easy to install and secure if it's kept up to date.
There are many different shopping cart software's out there and they aren't all made equally. Many of them are good for your typical merchant however for large sites there are only a few that actually shine.
Magento is really good however it's very heavy (it requires atleast a VPS)
Opencart is another option. We have a few clients that run it on our shared hosting packages and they don't have any issues!

Exactly. That is why Magento is not on my recommendation list at all. It is just too heavy and a lot of people are not on a VPS yet.
