Search Engine Marketing is the marketing process uniting all website promotion methods. All types of SEO and SEO itself are part of the SEM. The purpose of SEM and its elements is to increase the results of your website on SERP (search engine results page) with the use of all SEO techniques and promotion methods. SEM could be divided to different main types by the used methods, such as: Keywords managing, Popularity managing, SEO, Website Submission, Paid Indexing, etc… Each of the SEM elements will be discussed in this forum section.
Can we discuss each methods? I am interested in it and I want to know more about it..what are the examples of Keywords managing?
Keywords managing refers to the overall selection and usage of specific keywords in your website. For example, the selection of keywords in your domain name, website description, meta-descriptions,etc...
Keyword Managing is just like meta tagging? As I understand Meta tagging is the specific words to look for so your website will be found..and Keyword managing is also like that?
Yes, even the keywords used in your meta-tags are part of the keywords managing, but on a really lower indirect level. The main idea behind this term is the managing of keywords, which are somehow directly representing your website, like those in the domain name or the website`s description.
Max can we discuss the other techniques of SEM? We already discussed Keyword managing, I want to know the others as well

Of course, Apaullo. BTW, it will be great, if you can point me to a specific SEM subject that interests you. Anyway, I will continue with the submissions of your website in web directories. The directory submission is a very simple advertising/optimization method, which is not requiring any special knowledge or too much time. Each directory is providing you with a certain form that you should fill. You will be asked, about things like the website Url, main website purpose, website`s niche, etc… Be careful, when you are filling in the provided form, because if you miss to add any of the required information, your submission will be rejected. When the submission is successful, your website will be included in the chosen directory with a backlink and appropriate short description. This will eventually help your website overall SERP, and maybe even the page rank of your website. Most of the existing web-directories are free. However, some are charging you to list your website or even for extra ``features``, such as better/higher placement of the website in their list. The previous facts lead us to another SEM component - Paid Indexing. All submission through a paid option are usually indexed in less than 24 hours. The paid indexing also allows you to submit more than 1 URL and higher directory rankings. Some directories are also providing you with features, like ``Deeper Indexing``, which provides your website with extra backlinks to additional ``deeper`` web-pages. There are also directories, which are offering both free and paid submissions, and usually, if you choose free submission, your website will be listed 3-10+ times slower in the chosen directory. You should also try to frequently submit your website to the major search engines, which is possible through a specialized web-page provided by the search engine, or a specialized in the web-submitting company/service/website. I must recommend you to submit your website to the search engines manually, because the usage of special software will be most likely detected and your submission will be rejected. Do not ``overdo`` the directory submission, and just try to submit your website to the major internet directories with as precise website description and niche selection as possible. Feel free to ask any related questions in this thread.
I think I already did this once..submitting my site to Yahoo and Google, the first time I signed up to Wordpress, they instructed me to submit my URL to Yahoo and Google..no idea that it is already a technique to improve your site rank
Btw..what happened if you indeed overdo your submission? or inputting a wrong data?
If you submit your website more times than it is allowed, then your submission will be rejected. The same applies for missing or wrong data in the submission form.
Yeah..I only submitted it once and I think I got it right..but if you input wrong data and was rejected, is it ok to apply again?
