May not be directly related to your problem, but when I had the same
problem with a Brother printer on an x64 machine I had to completely
uninstall the drivers (printer and scanner) and then reinstall. HTH.

Hi everyone!

I have been using after effects for fulldome work here at Thinktank
Planetarium. I work with compositions of 3k by 3k. Now I know this is
huge, but if anyone else works with this size comp can you let me
know? I am having issues with importing large photoshops files into
the comp with errors regarding "unable to allocate buffer". So far I
have tried reducing the ram available for other Apps but still no luck:

Hello there.

I'm facing a *really weird* problem: I've installed CS4 and I'm using an
nVidia graphics board. When I open some JPGs or any other picture in
CS4, I simply see the checkboard (like when you're using transparency).

Does anybody know about this issue and how to solve it?

In theory the Digital Signature is based upon inserting a Disgital Certificate from a
certified Certificate Authority such as Verisign and should be able to be authenticated
through said authority.

Such dig. sigs. can be acceptable. However, you may choose to get a handwritten
signature.

Arabic text in word slightly corrupt in PDF

I have a document in word (2003) containing only two arabic caracters
كل (kef + lam).
When I print this document to Acrobat Distiller (8.1.3) the pdf result
LOOKS ok on screen but when I copy the text the ل looks ok but the ك
instead becomes an alef with madda (ﺁ‎). I.e. the unicode information
seems to be corrupt.

I have tried Arial and Times New Roman with this result, but if I use
Arial Unicode MS it suddenly becomes correct. It also becomes correct
with "Simplified Arabic" font but that can't be embedded into a pdf.
I've also tried setting pdf output to PDF/A standard but same result.
I find this strange as the text is correct in word the font should be
able to support this !?

Anyone knows why this is? I don't really want to use unicode MS font
so if there is a setting or something that would be nice.

As the result is the same also from e.g. Write or Notepad I don't
think the problem is in word but in distiller.

FYI, I found the answer (no thanks to Adobe doc). The export and
import text file consists of a tab-delimited list of the field names
followed by a carriage return/line feed combination, followed by a
tab-delimited list of data corresponding to the field names.

Some funny conventions are used, but easily identified. For example a
checked checkbox is indicated by "1" and an unchecked box is indicated
by "Off". Hope this might help somebody. :)

Well, if you want to use Indexed Colors format then you DO NOT want to
have too many colors as the FILE SIZE will be HUGE.

IOW, if you just want few color (like 6-16 etc.) then it's fine, but if
you start with somewhere around 26-32 or more then the file SIZE is probably
larger than JPG

Hi. I have a very large number (75,000 or more) documents in pdf
format which were apparently scanned at very, very high resolution.
When I check the individual document properties, most of them report
that they are 60 inches by 60 inches. What I want to do is to use
Adobe Acrobat Pro to Bates Stamp these documents, but they are very
difficult to deal with as-is. Can I reduce them in size, and perhaps
change their dimensions to a standard, portrait-orientation 8.5 x 11?
